Embroidery, fabric, knotting technique, painting, drawing, scraping technique / frame, nails, cardboard, textile, yarns, 2022 The more I am involved with current events, the more I wish I could make a difference with my work. So I was very happy when I was asked by SOLWODI, an aid organization for women, to contribute something to an exhibition. For "Changes", I translated some of the life situations of Jennifer, a client of Solwodi, in a mixture of watercolor painting and oil pastels. I cut out these images, and using thread, stretched them into a painted frame, which is lined with nails to hold the threads. From her experiences, I created Jennifer's dress. A bust, which is symbolic of Jennifer, rises out of the frame. The frame and the nails symbolize the suffering and limitations she had to overcome.

About the Artist

The artist about her work: "Since I can think, color-form and material compositions exert a strong fascination on me. The combination of often several materials and forms of expression such as painting and drawing with various printing, dyeing and textile techniques are characteristic of my work. The resulting relief effect gives the light from every angle differently, the appropriate material picks up the meaning of a theme on another level. Mainly I implement personal experiences, nature and travel impressions, as well as current events, and would like to tell the viewers a story- even more I am happy when they find their own story a bit in my work."
