About the Artwork
The work Paraiso combines watercolor painting with interwoven, knitted and embroidered materials. In the center are Eve and Adam, who are surrounded by manifold jungle plants and inhabitants. At first glance, the scene appears peaceful and lively; only a closer look reveals that the natural idyll has been framed by knitted flames. With my work I want to point out the threat to the biospheres, on whose integrity we humans also depend.
About the Artist
The artist about her work: "Since I can think, color-form and material compositions exert a strong fascination on me. The combination of often several materials and forms of expression such as painting and drawing with various printing, dyeing and textile techniques are characteristic of my work. The resulting relief effect gives the light from every angle differently, the appropriate material picks up the meaning of a theme on another level. Mainly I implement personal experiences, nature and travel impressions, as well as current events, and would like to tell the viewers a story- even more I am happy when they find their own story a bit in my work."
