About the Artwork
Frau Holle, also called Hulda or Perchta among others, is an earth and sky goddess, which was already worshipped in the Neolithic Age. She commands the weather, and can be both life-giving and death-dealing. This bipolarity is found everywhere in nature and in every life. On my work, representative of the snapshot of a life path, some personal experiences from different times are juxtaposed, which are guarded by the goddess of fate.
About the Artist
The artist about her work: "Since I can think, color-form and material compositions exert a strong fascination on me. The combination of often several materials and forms of expression such as painting and drawing with various printing, dyeing and textile techniques are characteristic of my work. The resulting relief effect gives the light from every angle differently, the appropriate material picks up the meaning of a theme on another level. Mainly I implement personal experiences, nature and travel impressions, as well as current events, and would like to tell the viewers a story- even more I am happy when they find their own story a bit in my work."
